Effectiveness of the combination of two organic sources in the growth of Coconut tree seedlings (Cocos Nucifera, L)

Abstract

The research work was developed in the Playa Duaba Nursery located in the Mabujabo community of the current Baracoa municipality of Guantánamo province in the period from May 2019 to October 2020. For the experiment, selected seeds from Plus trees were used, free from the incidence of pests and diseases. The organic materials at the time of the experiment were in their total decomposition and free of foreign materials. These studies were developed with the objective of evaluating the effectiveness of different combinations of two organic sources (wormcasting and coconut fiber) in the growth and development of coconut tree seedlings. For the experiment, we worked with the Indio Verde-1 ecotype, being the most accepted by the producers. Studies show the effectiveness of worm humus and decomposed coconut fiber to accelerate growth and obtain quality postures.
