Abstract
The present work was developed in Baitiquirí Ecological Reserve, belonging to San Antonio del Sur municipality, Guantánamo`s province, from September 2017 to June 2019. It aims to evaluate the structure and composition of the invasive species found in the semideciduous microphilous forest from the Baitiquirí Ecological Reserve. A total of 25 rectangular plots of 20 x 25 m were raised, using simple random sampling to count the floristic species present in the different strata and identify the invasive species. A total of 57 species belonging to 54 genera and 31 families were obtained. The following invasive species were identified: Pithecellobium dulce, Melicoccus bijugatus, Albizia lebbeck, Dichrostachys cinerea and Vachellia farnesiana, the latter is one of the highest index of value of ecological importance in the area, affecting the structure and composition of this type of forest formation already found in the different forest strata, with a very good natural regeneration, being observed from the seedling stage to high latizal; for this reason it is considered a potential danger for the futureforest.
