Abstract

The work was carried out in productive areas of the “Caribbean Garden " organoponic farm belonging to the company CultivosVarios Guantanamo in the period from February to April 2014 with the objective of evaluating the use of EcoMic® and Efficient Microorganisms (EM) to evaluate the development of the beet crop, Bordon variety. 4 treatments under study were made, a control treatment was designed with 1 kg of earthworm humus (T1), another based on ME (T2), a treatment 3 based on EcoMic® and the combination of the two microorganisms (T4). The variables evaluated were: length of the aerial part (cm), number of leaves (U), root length (cm), fresh root mass (g), equatorial diameter (cm) and yield (kg/m2). The experiment was distributed in a randomized block design where a sample of 4 replicates per treatment was used, a double classification analysis of variance was performed, the comparison of means was carried out through Duncan's Multiple Range test (p ≤ 0,05) and the statistical package STATISTICA 6.1 in Windows environment was used in the analysis. The results showed satisfactory results for all the variants treated, with the best result being T4 with yields of 17, 45 t/ha.
